2011 Wenger Patagonian Expedition Race staff
This year's race brought together some 80 staff from 11 different countries including Chile, US, UK, France, New Zealand, Australia, Turkey, Canada, Japan, Germany and Mexico. It was a true melting pot of cultures, with staff, volunteers and interns overcoming language barriers to bond over a shared love of the outdoors and adventure.
From the translators, marketers, writers, cartographers, checkpoint managers, logistics staff, photographers, videographers, cooks and more, every member of the Wenger Patagonian Expedition Race team plays an important role before, during and after the race, often working around the clock for the safety of the racers and the success of the event.
For those involved it is often a life-changing experience and a memory they will share with family and friends for years to come.
"I think in general this race was one of the ones with the best spirit, not only amongst the teams but also within the organisation, which is a big group. There are some special people involved in this race and there have been many new people in the organisation and teams this year," said Stjepan Pavicic, Race Founder and Director.
"In this special environment we have brought together experiences which have marked us deeply, with anecdotes and stories that will glue the eyes of the world on the Chilean Patagonia, a natural heritage that must be preserved for future generations," he said.
"All those who have been directly involved in this ninth edition of the Wenger Patagonian Expedition Race - the athletes, the press, the TV production teams, photographers and the whole organization - have had an intense experience, each in their own area, but all of us pushing ourselves as far as we possibly could."
Nomadas Outdoor Service is grateful for the continued support of these important people in the race each year.
