Team Wenger-Nam-Easy Implant at 2010 XPD Australia

After seven punishing nights, and eight treacherous days of hiking, rafting, snorkeling and biking, Team Wenger-Nam-Easy Implant finished 10th at the Australia's 2010 XPD expedition race.

Team Wenger-Nam-Easy Implant ranked both 12th and 15th early on in the competition. But when the rafting section of the race began, the team moved back into the top ten, and even managed to catch the 7th position in the final 60km trek. The final 15km of the leg was a sprint along a number of main roads towards Cairns. Unfortunately, this section of the race caused several of the team’s feet to become injured, ultimately slowing them down. In the end, they crossed the finish line in 10th place among nearly 50 very tough teams.

The team, which comprised of Patricia, Cyril, Olivier and Bruno encountered kangaroos jumping in front of them as they biked, dangerous fish staring back at them while kayaking, and countless snakes, spiders and leeches crawling around to protect their surroundings. But the team persevered throughout, regardless of their numerous wounds, burns, rashes and skin infections.

When the race was complete, all team members agreed that the adventure was one of great sportsmanship and humanity.
