The 2011 Wenger Patagonian Expedition Race saw 14 teams from all corners of the world racing from the world renowned and UNESCO heritage listed Torres del Paine national park, going past the Southern Continental Ice Fields and ending at the volcanic craters of Pali Aike National Park. The competitors faced fierce winds, freezing cold fjords, dense forests and unpredictable weather, which unfortunately forced the race to be shortened.
Overall only six out of 14 teams were able to finish the race at the end of the world. In the race course there were 13 check points (Punta Control - PC) which allowed the organisers to log arrival/departure times and track the progress of the racers. It also allowed the racers to change equipment when necessary, such as when changing disciplines.
The record of how the teams flowed through each PC during the race can be found here.
