The Wenger Patagonian Expedition Race photography competition, run in association with National Geographic Traveller UK, drew interest from thousands of enthusiastic snappers from around the world – but only one person could scoop the prize of a lifetime.
The opportunity to photograph the world’s last wild race in Chilean Patagonia saw a high quality range of entries and after a tough task for the competition’s three judges we are pleased to announce that the winner is:
Scott Clark from Bloomfield, USA.
Competition judge and National Geographic Traveller UK picture editor Chris Hudson said: “The entries were of a pretty high standard and many of the entries demonstrated a lot of experience in the field while others showed a lot of promise. The top entries stood out for the ability to capture a stunning scene as well as displaying flashes of ability to capture a moment in time.”
This year’s Wenger Patagonian Expedition Race begins on February 8th in one of the last true wilderness regions on the planet, and Scott Clark will follow the race through the fjordlands of Chilean Patagonia. Images from the experience will appear alongside an article on the event and the region in National Geographic Traveller UK later this year.
