Mike Horn's Young Explorers Program Gives Back

Wenger Ambassador, Mike Horn created the Young Explorers Program (YEP) as a major element of his 4-year Pangaea Expedition - the goal is to educate the next generation of environmental ambassadors and leaders. These dynamic and diverse 15-20 year olds young people taking part at the YEP, have been chosen from hundreds of worldwide applications to follow Mike's "Explore, Learn, Act" approach in some of the most extreme and fragile environments. But their time with Mike and the other YEPs is only the beginning - they'll also carry the invaluable lessons they learn back to their homelands and deliver them to thousands of their contemporaries.

The latest Young Exploreres Program expedition took place in November 2011 in Florida, on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. The group discovered the Everglades biodiversity & coastal mangroves and visited historical places such as the Fort Jefferson located in the Dry Tortugas.

Rick Kotze, one of the young explorers, tell this wonderful day at Fort Jefferson and how he met Ray.

On August 15, 2011, Mike Horn's group of Young Explorers set off to the east coast of Baffin Island in Nunavut, Canada. Their expedition took them to the Arctic region of Bafffin, where they studied the ecosystem, flora and fauna of this spectacular region.

At the beginning of their journey, each member of the team was given two Mike Horn Souvenir Evolution 17 Swiss Army Knives: one that they would use on their expedition, and another which they would gift to someone that they felt would benefit from the useful tool in some way.

Discover to whom the young explorers decided to offer their Swiss knife during their adventure:
