The race is only three days away, and the Nomadas office is bustling with anticipation and excitement. Teams Gear Junkie (U.S.), Almost Famous (U.S. & U.K.), Road Runners (Denmark) and Dancing Pandas (U.S., New Zealand & Canada) all arrive today.
Our crew at Nomadas is currently exceeding 50 volunteers and interns, and everyone is hard at work with last-minute preparations. Some of the tasks include (but aren't limited to): food preparation; equipment checks; airport transfers; public relations; and logistics planning.
Meanwhile, the racers are just as busy. Equipment needs to be checked and gear assembled. But it's not all mechanics; teams need to acclimate themselves to the harsh conditions of southern Chile and mentally prepare for a race so tough on the mind and body.
