
British team adidasTERREX-Prunesco cycles through the race flags and across the finish line to complete the long and arduous course and win 2011 Wenger Patagonian Expedition Race.
Four teams have completed the 2011 Wenger Patagonian Expedition Race, with Croatia’s Ad Natura – Karibu crossing the finish line at 2am this morning in fourth place, after riding for about 12 hours from PC13.
The two remaining teams - East Wind (Japan) and Perdido en el Turbal (US, UK) - are racing to the finish today with the Japanese racers leaving PC13 at 8.04am this morning, closely followed by Perdido en el Turbal at 8.16am.
Yesterday team adidasTERREX/Prunesco claimed victory, completing the 503 kilometre multisport race in five days, 12 hours and 36 minutes. It was the third win in a row for the team.
US team GearJunkie.com took second place, covering the tough course in six days, four hours and 44 minutes, with a 10 hour penalty added to their time as a result of failing to check in at PC10.
Third place getters, Vaucluse Adventure Evasions from France took six days, seven hours and 44 minutes, while Ad Natura, in fourth place, took six days, 15 hours and 44 minutes.
