Cumbrian craftsman joiner Andy Levy has lovingly carved a unique working replica of a Wenger Classic 13 Swiss Army Knife made entirely from oak. The knife is exactly five times as big as the original and comes complete with all 10 of the Wenger knife’s suite of tools – including knife, saw, corkscrew, bottle opener, tin opener and screwdrivers.

It took Andy nearly three days to create at his Kendal studio in the Lake District. Andy, who runs his own Lake District joinery business called CraftyWood said: “I’ve had a love of Wenger Swiss Army Knives for as long as I can remember. My dad gave me my first one when I was eight and I’ve carried one round in my pocket ever since. As a joiner you never know when one might come in handy.

“It’s a design classic and I just thought it would be a great idea to pay tribute to it with a working, scale model in wood. It was a pleasure to carve and I’m delighted with the end result.”

The original Wenger Classic 13 Swiss Army Knife has 10 implements, weighs 77g and is 85mm in length. Andy’s replica knife weighs just under 2kg and is 42cm long.
